Tottenham Hotspur’s season has hardly gone to plan.
It was only nine months ago that they were in the vying for silverware in the Champions League final, but now the only bit of glory is likely to be Anthony Joshua retaining his world title belts against Kubray Pulev in June.
Spurs are five points from the top four in the Premier League and have to overcome an away goal in Germany to progress past RB Leipzig in Europe. Tomorrow’s game against Norwich City will determine their FA Cup chances too.
Not many would have anticipated Mauricio Pochettino getting the sack, nor the appointment of former Chelsea nemesis Jose Mourinho, but alas that’s where we find ourselves this March.
Supporters have been debating their transfer activity on social media after two windows where chairman Daniel Levy finally opened his chequebook.
And it’s safe to say their club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele has split opinion…
Many slammed the Frenchman’s performances since joining in the summer with one fan rating him a “0/10” compared to Giovani Lo Celso’s lofty nine.
Ndombele cost the club a reported £55m fee from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, which is why another supporter could only hand him a “4/10” as he is yet to live up to that price tag.

Others claimed that Gedson Fernandes was a better player than the 23-year-old and that he needs to “stop eating pizza every night” – referencing his perceived weight and fitness issues.
Which is one factor that plenty of the Spurs faithful highlighted in their reviews…
Ndombele’s fitness was blasted for being “tragic” as well as “ridiculous” while one supporter stated that it’s evident he’s really talented, but he’s made of tissue paper, so we don’t get to see his exploits enough.
He was also criticised for being “lazy and injury-prone”.
The 6-time France international has played 25 times in all competitions this season, averaging just shy of 52 minutes per game, which would suggest that some comments above are quite accurate.
However, not everyone was so scathing in their assessment of the central midfielder with some firmly in support…
Ndombele was described as being the “most talented player” at Mourinho’s disposal while another claimed he has looked great whenever given an opportunity.
Where is he from?! Can you name which obscure countries these famous players have represented?
And in other news, Spurs fans rave over their only shining light after tweeting words of encouragement…
